Vape Safely With This E-Cigarette Battery Safety Guide

Maybe you’ve done your research and committed yourself to the e-cig revolution. That choice is commendable as you now realise that vaping is a healthier alternative than smoking. Before you start purchasing the essentials, we just want to remind you of the following battery safety measures. There may be news about exploding batteries but there is need to panic.Every product that uses batteries has the potential to be faulty. However, most of these explosive battery incidents are caused by human error and if you want to minimise the risk follow these rules:

1. Always Use the Charger Specifically Designed for Your Battery

Most e-cigarette battery explosions happen because of the wrong charger being used. Just because the battery fits in the charger doesn’t mean it will work the same way as the original charger. If you have two chargers that look similar to each other but belong to two different e-cigarettes, label them appropriately.

2. Never Leave a Charging Battery Unattended

Any device with a rechargeable battery should not be left unattended. The same goes with e-cigarettes. Keep your e-cigarette charger within your sight just in case the battery starts hissing or looks deformed and molten,if this occurs stop charging immediately. Remember, do not throw your batteries in the rubbish bin, only dispose of batteries at a battery recycling centre.

3. Immediately Remove Your Battery From the Charger Once It’s Fully Charged

Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger. You don’t want to overload your battery with excess electricity. This is one reason why charging while you are sleeping is not recommended. Although you’re in the same room as your battery, you won’t be able to unplug it once it’s charged.

4. Keep Separate Batteries Away From Each Other and Protected From Metal

This tip applies to people who use e-cigarettes with separate batteries. Any battery can produce a surge of heat if it touches a piece metal or the terminal of another battery. To avoid any problems cap the ends of the batteries and keep them away from each other.

5. Make Sure Your Batteries Are Rated for the Coil of Your Atomizer Atomizers come in different resistances, this is why it is so important to choose an atomizer that is within the safety limits of your battery. If you are just starting using e-cigarette most pre-built atomizers are safe to use with the majority of e-cigarette batteries.

6. Keep Your Batteries Out of the Extreme Heat

Do not expose your batteries to heat or direct sunlight. Whether the battery is charged or uncharged, it is not advisable that you subject the batteries to unnecessary heat. These are just some of the battery safety tips that you need to keep in mind. Now that you know these, it’s time to buy the essentials.
